DAY 1 — Christchurch → Castle Hill → Arthur’s Pass → Hokitika
- Visit the magical Castle Hill, a landscape of giant limestone boulders.
- Continue to Arthur’s Pass, with short alpine walks and stunning viewpoints including the Otira Viaduct.
- End the day in Hokitika, where you can explore the gorge, jade shops, and rugged West Coast beaches.
DAY 2 — Hokitika → Punakaiki → Nelson
- Travel up the coastline to the dramatic Pancake Rocks of Punakaiki, where blowholes and layered rock formations create an unforgettable natural display.
- Continue to sunny Nelson, known for art galleries, cafes, and relaxed coastal charm.
DAY 3 — Nelson → Marlborough Wine Region
- Head into the heart of NZ’s world-famous Sauvignon Blanc region.
- Visit boutiques or large vineyards, enjoy tastings, and experience Marlborough’s rolling vineyards and cellar doors.
- Optional stop: Omaka Aviation Heritage Centre.
DAY 4 — Marlborough → Picton → Kaikōura
- Enjoy the seaside charm of Picton, gateway to Queen Charlotte Sound. Walk the waterfront, explore lookout points, and enjoy tranquil coastal scenery.
- Continue to Kaikōura, where optional whale watching or seal colony walks may be added.
DAY 5 — Kaikōura → Christchurch
- Return to Christchurch via scenic coastal routes.
